Achieve the look of natural stone, brick, or wood at a fraction of the cost. Stamped concrete delivers lasting beauty with the strength and durability concrete is known for.
Stamped concrete is freshly poured concrete that is pressed with rubber or polyurethane stamps to create patterns and textures before it hardens. Combined with integral color, color hardener, or antiquing release agents, the result can closely replicate expensive natural materials — at a fraction of the installed cost.
ConcreterCo contractors are trained in proper timing, stamping technique, and color application to ensure consistent, professional results. Stamped concrete requires experienced hands — improper technique results in blurry patterns or color blotching that can't be undone.
Popular Stamped Concrete Patterns
Ashlar slate — Our most popular pattern. Clean, rectangular blocks with subtle surface texture mimic high-end imported slate perfectly.
Cobblestone / European fan — Curved fan patterns inspired by Old World cobblestone streets. Excellent for driveways and entryways.
Running bond brick — The classic brick pattern in a variety of bond layouts. Timeless and versatile for patios, walkways, and pool decks.
Flagstone / irregular stone — Random, organic shapes that mimic hand-laid flagstone with realistic grout lines and surface variation.
Wood plank — Realistic wood grain texture in wide plank format. Striking on modern patios and pool surrounds without the rot or splinter risks.
Herringbone — Diagonal or standard herringbone brick for a sophisticated, upscale appearance in any setting.
Color Options
Stamped concrete color is achieved through multiple techniques, and our contractors can combine them for multi-tonal, richly textured results:
Integral color — Pigment mixed throughout the concrete. Consistent color even if the surface chips.
Color hardener — Dry shake applied to the surface for vivid, durable color with increased surface strength.
Antiquing release — Contrasting color applied over the base to highlight texture and create depth and variation in the grout lines.
Maintenance & Sealing
Stamped concrete requires resealing every 2–4 years to maintain its color, protect the surface from staining, and preserve the pattern definition. ConcreterCo applies a high-quality acrylic sealer at project completion. We also offer resealing service for existing stamped concrete.
Properly sealed stamped concrete can be slippery when wet, especially with glossy sealers. We offer anti-slip additives (shark grip or aluminum oxide) mixed into the sealer coat — highly recommended for pool decks, steps, and areas that see rain. Ask your estimator about this option.
In freeze-thaw climates, we use air-entrained concrete and low water-cement ratios to maximize durability. Proper sealing is critical in northern climates. Our local crews know your regional mix design requirements. Avoid rock salt on stamped concrete — use sand or calcium chloride instead.
Minor cracks can be filled with color-matched caulk and touched up. Major damage may require section replacement. Our 5-year guarantee covers structural cracking related to workmanship or materials.
